Busy old day which started with the AA loading my car up on a lorry and dropping it off at the garage before a photo opportunity with the local MP and Councillor at a community event before heading to one of our offices for a quarterly lunch event and a chance to present staff with certificates of recognition...
I passed these derelict buildings on the way back to the office - I've walked past many times over the years and actually think it's been in this state for the 20+ years I've worked in London..
Pretty disgusting really when you consider the Square Mile and Canary Wharf, both banking heartlands in London, are only about 2-3 miles away..!
Its such a shame to see such grand storefronts in such disarray. We don't have this kind of history here in Washington State. Yes, we have the neglect, but not with such grand buildings. What a shame.
very interesting....i see beauty in this decay....lots of beautiful texture and such. It seems like there is scaffolding there...as if they were intending to do some work there at some point. In any case, i love the pic.....makes me want to go inside and explore! a fav!
Great illustration and comment on typical high-finance thinking! If restoration can't be guaranteed to produce instant megabucks, ignore it and let it fall down.
