Aldwych Station by andycoleborn

Aldwych Station

You won't find this station on any tube map as it's one of the 40 or so old underground stations that have closed over the years...

Trains once ran a shuttle service from Holborn but it closed in 1994 due to low passanger numbers... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aldwych_tube_station

And ex-colleague once showed me a book on closed down stations - a bit square but quite interesting..

great photo, but a bit depressing to realise that I still thought it was open - my London days are a long way behind me.................

Nice looking station. I wonder what it's like inside.

it's a great shot - I'm sure this was the only station with that many straight consonants in its name. Mansion House is the station with every vowel in the alohabet in its name. I'm a tube geek, I'd've liked that closed station book! I want to knock the door down and go explore!!

Nice one, they're very distinctive, the old frontages.
