Red White & Blue

Not sure what caused the blue light here..

I'm probably being a grumpy old fart, but I really don't like how Hallowe'en seems to have relegated Bonfire Night to an also-ran event.. Can't remember the last time I saw kids asking for a penny for the guy...

Nice shot. Although that doesn't seem like a particularly smart place to leave your camera!

Not a bad shot for a grumpy old fart. I guess it's true about Hogwarts then. Love the whizzing lines and so glad the no43 bus didn't run you over...

love the motion and color and grittiness of the street in this shot - - but two questions ..? what is "also-ran"? and..what do you mean "kids asking for a penny for the guy?"...what guy..?

Thats a very neat photo! Looks like you were lucky not to get run over, lol. I'd never seen a penny for the guy, until Leeds!

@intymalcolm cheers... wasn't as mad as it looks, I was on the centre reservation so only risked getting poisoned by all the fumes :-)
@sticksandstones an also-ran is erm.. second class/secondary that sort of thing... Bonfire night celebrate burning Guy Fawkes at the stake for trying to blow up Parliament in the Gunpowder Plot of 1605..... Kids use to make a effigy of Guy, and before buring him atop a bonfire would ask people for money - hence "Penny for the Guy" More here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Guy_Fawkes
