St Matthias Church by andycoleborn

St Matthias Church

Up and out early for a nice drive to Norfolk and a look around a few villages and towns.. Not much photo opportunities apart from some lovely, although rather flat, countyside as we spent most of he time in the car..

This little thatched roofed church sits in the hamlet of Thorpe-next-Haddicoe, alongside a couple of houses and a farm... The tower dates from Saxon times, probably built c800 - 900AD.. The rest from Norman times...

Wow, this is really wonderful. A little disjointed fabulousness. The oldest building still standing here is from 1908, and I think there is someone somewhere requesting to have it torn down to build something more modern!

Is this another converging vertical perspective problem so prevalent with architecture shots.? I am trying to find the best software to correct this, rather than going to the expense and trouble of Tilt-and-shift lenses. Any ideas?

I like the peek of the cemetery next to the church. Nice afternoon shadows on the building too. Really like the composition of this shot.

Gosh it looks like it's from Pick n Mix architecture ltd. What a curious little place.

@frankhymus I don't have it, but understand Lightroom can fix the problem - Apparently there's a 1 month free download trial if you want to give it a go...
