Had to go to Hackney earlier this afternoon and as it was by now lunchtime, I took a long wander back via Brick Lane..
I'd taken a couple of snaps and stopped for a salt beef and mustard beigal (7/10) and coffee (9/10) and decided to head back to the office..
I wasn't going to check this often changing wall in Hanbury Street but a little voice inside my head said I should so a quick detour was made and bingo! Another new piece is going up in front of my eyes...
Couldn't get a decent shot in as there was a flippin giant 4x4 (SUV in American) parked opposite... Will have to go back next week to check the final version...
But this is so good! So much going on here, but it is all contained in a unified frame. People, Street, background and the graffiti itself. If you have something better next week, I can't imagine what it might be. This is already a favorite for me.
Don't you hate those SUV's? "Mommy-mobiles" we often refer to them as here. Mom being Mum in British speak, and the vehicle used to ferry around the kids after school. There is absolutely no need for this intrusive vehicle in modern urban or suburban environments.
Fantastic shot and brilliant that you're documenting every change. Such a shame that each piece of artwork has to be painted over. You should definitely produce a book :o) xx
