Made the late decision to head up to central London to watch the fireworks, parking near to Tower Bridge and walking up towards the London Eye..
As I made my way along the South Bank, Tower Bridge opened to allow a large party boat through..
This is a 30 second exposure as I was hoping to catch the boat make it's way completely under the bridge, but it was moving so slowly that 30 seconds wasn't even enough..
I lived in London for 4 years in the 1980s and I remember taking several shots from about the same place you took this. I never had the good luck to see the Tower Bridge raise when I had a camera handy, so it's nice to see it in your picture. :-)

I was walking across TB once (I've probably only been near 3 or 4 times) and it opened. I felt privileged - no camera always on me in those days though
