I seem to be getting a bit of a musical theme going here but this really should have been Thursday's photo as James passed his grade 8 oboe exam- that's 2 grade 8s in the bag now the talented little soul! Unfortunately, as I asked him for a photo with the oboe, he'd left it at school so we ended up with the piano photo instead!
Like this and the warm tones you've used, gives the feeling of a dimly lit club at night. ( Maybe not where you'd want him to be but goes with the musical theme for me.)
@gardencat Hate to disillusion- it was a cheap ikea spotlight in our kitchen. But I'm glad the effect came across. He's a year from university and I'm sure he'll get around to the nightclubs then!
Hi, Angela - I just stumbled here after seeing your adorable puppy "WAS" shot. Love this shot of the oboe student and all the story that goes with it. My husband is oboe professor at the College Conservatory of Music (University of Cincinnati), so I have oboe shots as well!
@lyno Thank you so much for your visit to my album, Lyn! It's fun browsing all the great things out there, isn't it? I'm glad you liked my shot of Ceilidh (who didn't even have the decency to look guilty after eating my Easter wreath!) and James is very happy to hear that there are other oboists out there. It's a bit of a lonely instrunment sometimes, isn';t it? James is only one of 2 in his school and I don't know what they'll do next year when he leaves for uni- write the oboe part out of everything, I presume!
Take care and do visit my album again- I really appreciate you taking the time to leave a comment. Greetings from snowy Cheshire, UK to Cincinnati!
