Hey, what happened to spring? by angelar

Hey, what happened to spring?

Did I blink at the wrong moment and miss it?

I quite liked this off-centre composition with the snowy background but what do all my 365 friends think- all opinions welcome!
This is a great composition Angela... Have just been reading a camera mag about putting the main focal
point off centre, like here. I like the dropping flower dusted with snow too.....

That is a beautiful, yet sad, image. I hope spring visits you soon.

I love that the flower not is in the centre. It makes it more interesting.

Poor flowers look a bit cold! I like the contrast of the spring and winter. We’re in the midst of a big snow today after a warm, sunny day yesterday. Bummer.

I like it off center. I think I might prefer a closer crop that puts the flower closer to the bottom of the frame and loses some of the negative space in the top right hand corner.
I really like the muted colours and the beautiful speckled pattern in the flower.

@chessington @jo13 @idieh71 @gardencat Thank you all for your comments. I had several more conventional shots but thought I'd try this one with all the snow in the background and so off centre. Great to get your feedback .It's a bit different, at least... I take your point, Joanne about a closer crop.

Beautiful composition. Never mind the imagined "rules" the camera-club enthusiasts try to convince you must be obeyed ... If it looks right it IS right - and this is very right indeed! Definitely a FAV!

@liversedge I suppose it does obey rule of thirds, you're right!

Off-center is more effective, I think. This looks great! I love the color and the spotting on the petals. Lovely shot!
