Waiting for the pedestrian lights at the intersection of Flinders St and Market Street, Melbourne, looking towards Queen's Bridge, I couldn't resist trying to capture the busyness of it all. It is a messy transport interchange under renovation. Every direction I looked there was something interesting happening. And this is in a slow time after another lockdown when the CBD is still very quiet.
And I quite liked all the lines intersecting through the scene.
Australia 108 building visible as it is from most points around the CBD. To the left is the Eureka Tower, third tallest building in Australia, and, on completion in 2007, the tallest residential building in the world, although it is now relegated to fifteenth. It is named for the Eureka Rebellion in Ballarat in 1854, with the gold crown representing the gold rushes of the 1850s, the blue with white stripes the Eureka flag, and the red stripe (just visible in this photo) the blood spilled in the rebellion.
