Cope Hut was a very basic but welcome shelter from the rain for our morning cuppa on Saturday's walk. It was built in 1929 as an emergency refuge for skiers and today it still serves that purpose from storms and heavy snow. It's not permitted to stay overnight unless it is an emergency.
Snow gums in the mist gave the whole scene a slightly eerie quality.
It's not a resort really, it's a mountain village with summer and winter lodges. In the lodges there is internet but not out from the village so much. Come and visit! @yaorenliu
