Lacepede Islands by ankers70

Lacepede Islands

The first glimpse of the Lacepede Islands from the stern of the Coral Geographer. This group of four islands (or sand cays) lies 20km off the Dampier Peninsulawhich is the arm of land between Broome and Cape Leveque, WA. The islands, only accessible when the tide conditions are good, are a bird conservation reserve with 17,000 breeding pairs of brown boobies, roseate terns, frigate birds as well as numerous waders and shore birds. We saw green turtles, hammerhead sharks.

Fabulous blue sky. Sounds like my type of trip to see such interesting wildlife.

It was a wonderful trip to places only accessible by boat.
My first ever cruise, a relatively small boat cruise of the Kimberley Coast. Wonderful! Rocks and wildlife!
