Phoenix from the Ashes

In Greek mythology, a phoenix is a long-lived bird that is cyclically regenerated or reborn. Associated with the sun, a phoenix obtains new life by arising from the ashes of its predecessor.

i've been looking at this for several minutes now and i am just in awe. sometimes there are photographs that just grabs you and this one did just that to me. won't hesitate to hang this on my wall. this is great art and i'm jealous it's not mine! :-)

a very arty shot. a friend once said that she thought I was like the phoenix because it didn't matter how much I got thrown at me I always rose up again like the phoenix out of the ashes. I thought that was quite beautiful, but I am not going back to the dark places again to try it out any more.
