E - scalator by annied

E - scalator

An escalator can never break: it can only become stairs. You should never see an Escalator Temporarily Out Of Order sign, just Escalator Temporarily Stairs. Sorry for the convenience.
~Mitch Hedberg
Love the movement , and the quote. Escalator stairs are very steep - very good exercise.

You are quite obtuse in your thinking Ms Annie :)
February 5th, 2015

February 5th, 2015

I wonder if Hedberg was ever on an escalator that suddenly lurched to a stop? It’s funny how steep those stairs suddenly get… ;-p
Gorgeous picture! Fav.

Profound observation Annie, and quite correct. Love your shot - and SOH.

Love this Annie...love this. Great pov and focus. I like the sense of motion. I agree with your thoughts on this...but I suppose that for "insurance reasons" they have to put those signs up! hahah!!
February 6th, 2015
Love this, and am going to have to remember the temporarily stairs thing. Funny!

Great word for E.....now, you had me looking up the etymology of escalator.....it got me wondering why all these words had an e in front of them like elevator and escalator, sort of like we put an i in front of everything these days, like the iphone! And, you are not obtuse!!
February 8th, 2015
@panthora hahahahahaha I know exactly what Miss Sam @gigiflower was trying to say - I can be quite
recondite
(rɪˈkɒndaɪt; ˈrɛkənˌdaɪt)
adj
1. requiring special knowledge to be understood; abstruse
2. dealing with abstruse or profound subjects
LOL

great qwuote Annie. Yeah, I noticed the misspelling, but I thought it was funny anyway.
February 9th, 2015
@bill_fe lol love it hahaha
February 10th, 2015
I missed this earlier, it rewards careful study - the other escalator users, the shadows of this pair, the way motion blur affects him but not her (I guess he moved independently of the escalator) and the processing... I like it a lot. BtW - recondite is one of my favourite words... and it certainly applies to me ;-)
February 11th, 2015
@vignouse thank you so much Richard - it is a great word and most certainly applies to me too.
