This week will be more Aussie landscape - this time from the Blue Mountains area of Glenbrook and Leura.
Glenbrook is the first entry point to the Blue Mountains National Park. The National Park covers an area of over 200,000 hectares.
This was an area just over the causeway where there was a trail you could wander along.
The Blue Mountains are so gorgeous! They make me think of Bell Birds! We drove up the coast to visit our daughter and the family today, and the campus where they live is gorgeous with beautifully placed eucalyptus trees! Ken was curious to know if they were introduce to this country, and found they been brought here by Australian gold miners in 1849! We love them as Australians do! They're a part of our California landscape, too!
...so all that to say I greatly enjoyed this lovely photo and the good thoughts it stirred!
@Weezilou thank you so much Louise, I love eucalypts - there are so many varieties and they are all unique. I also love the sound of bellbirds. Thank you so much for your wonderful response I am pleased it brought back good memories and you have given me a big smile.
@karlow75 i always look out for snakes...would love to see a python or red belly in the wild.....not so much a brown unless it was a safe distance lol
i look out for echidnas wallabies and the like too :)
@annied I learned my lesson one day when fishing along a river. I nearly stepped on a black snake. I really crapped myself. Luckily for me it crapped itself as much as I did and fled to the water. My father in law thought I yelled because I caught a fish. Now I am always on the lookout.
@pusspup oh dear...have never had a tick...did have leeches attach themselves in high school when we were exploring the rivers....we smoked so burned them off hahaha
