steel and plastic

Every time you drive through a particular Sydney suburb there are a dozen or more stranded trolleys along a particular 100-200m stretch - it amazes me every time. This is the second of a short series of stranded trolley images.
That happens here in the States too. I have come to the conclusion that the trollies become much too heavy to push once you've emptied them. Well done on turning this one into an interesting piece of art!

@olivetreeann hahaha that and the walk back is exhausting - they have tried to combat the problem in certain areas by having them chained and you need a coin to release which you get back when you return it. In some areas there is a system where the wheels look if you take them past a certain point so they can't be taken outside the shopping centre.

It sounds as if this is going to be an interesting series, Ms Annie.

@annied Well good grief, I thought you were doing a series on street car trolleys. When I saw this photo I thought “that looks like a shopping cart”! Ha ha ha.

@annied There is one supermarket in our area that has the coin operated carts. They don't have shopping bags either- you bring your own. It supposedly keeps the cost down. I do like a lot of their products. but it's a bit of a drive for me so I don't shop there too often.

I like the way you're treating these as abstract objects.

You're making me look at shopping carts in an entirely different way.
