WHARF CRANE - the Titan by annied

WHARF CRANE - the Titan

This crane was used in the refitting of submarines. Its elevated control cabin and counterweighted jib are representative of Cockatoo Island's ship building and ship repair heritage. Rail mounted so it could travel the length of the Bolt Wharf, it had great precision and was ideal for the complex refitting of the six Oberon-class submarines which were built in Britain in the 1960's.

you can see the crane behind the buildings on the left in this image - http://365project.org/annied/people-and-plac/2016-02-16
