Red Pandas by annied

Red Pandas

May is going to be about Adelaide in my People and Places album - yes- I am behind - ha ha - what's new?
This week I will be posting photos from the Adelaide Zoo.

Red Pandas are more closely related to racoons than to their black and white counterparts. Native to the eastern Himalayas and south-western China, Red Pandas spend most of their time in trees eating bamboo and a variety of fruits, leaves and eggs. It is estimated there are fewer than 10,000 Red Pandas left in the wild. The major threats facing the species in the wild are habitat loss and fragmentation and poaching.
Oh! I've never even heard of the Red Pandas! He's wonderful. I learn at least one thing every day from 365, today I learned there are Red Pandas in the world. Lol.

Lovely shot of a Red Panda - I do know of them as they are my granddaughters favourite animal. I've seen one at Australia Zoo but couldn't get anything like your pic.
