L H G 20628

The Bogie Brake Van LHG 20628 is a mixed passenger / goods / guards van representing one of the methods used by the NSW railways to overcome the problems of handling a small number of passengers and parcels across rural NSW where the bulk of trains being run were freight trains and the volume of passenger traffic was insufficient to justify running full passenger carriages.
It is a representative example of one of the most numerous types of goods guards vans that were found on the tail end of all freight trains in NSW until the late 1980s.
lucky they are labelled - they look much the same otherwise.

This looks a well maintained van! I think we still have guards van on some railways!

Oh gosh, I remember seeing these at Moulamein station way back when. Talk about a blast from the past. Vans, trains and station have all gone now.

Hi! I'm yourr Get Pushed partner this week. I've had a look and you've had a load of great challenges... I was wondering if you'd be willing to capture some old versus new in a street photography shot?

Not being familiar with these, I found your collage really interesting. Sounded like a good solution to a problem. I like your history behind the shot.
