This screenshot I titled "Bowness calm monochrome" this morning was deceptive. By the time I got to work, waves were being pushed up the beach - and there were 40mph+ gust warnings for the afternoon.

Storm Nelson was named on on my phone today - can't remember what contexts - but if we accept the naming of other meteorological services ie the Spanish agency in this case, it makes a confusing nonsense of our own policy, hey @30pics4jackiesdiamond ?

And Cornwall has just been done in by Storm Pierrick - named by Meteofrance!!!
