I used my cheap tin of compacted powder water colours and was surprised at the limited palette!!
You can't see it but some brollies have a bit of lustre glitter watercolour as do the maple leaves - too much?? Most difficult technique, apart from the overlapping translucency, the decoration on them
Sat in my garden colouring in with paint, so relaxing, except I think next door is building a space ship with a hammer and nails!
@30pics4jackiesdiamond i like this so muuuch!!! And again you made it your own with the blown maple leaves and the decorations. You are amazing.
You really should add a touch of sky. Very loosley, and light, here and there. The white space is strange.
But beside that, it is so lovely. The details in ink are so awesome and the colors are so transparent. And the overlapping is done so well, with the back color visible through the foremost. Terrific.
I truly like the way you combined watercolour with ink. You nailed it! Trully well done!
@casablanca thank you @monikozi how would you advise going about adding a bit of sky?? I was scared to spoil it!! If/when I do I'll reupload adn thank you so much for lovely words!!
@30pics4jackiesdiamond just pick a very light blue and wash between the umbrellas and leaves, without touching them. Something like the shadow under this truck, but even lighter https://365project.org/artsygang/365/2021-02-07
Just so that the page is not white.
Or, if you have the patience, go up to the margin of every element. But remember the tone to be very light. Lots of water. Or, you may just add clean water in a scribbly random manner between the elements, leaving dry spots here and there, and then drop the lightest blue and let the paint do whatever it wishes to do.
@30pics4jackiesdiamond your brollies have such a delicate look to them. I found the decorations to be the most difficult part for me too but you have done a wonderful job with it! The leaves are amazing in their detail.

meanwhile, i ruined mine by adding transparent colour. i'll gesso it then start over. maybe if i feel brave enough, i'll do it in watercolour. gasp!
