we've said that a couple of times over the last few weeks!!
the photo on the left is my leg. and no, i wasn't beaten with a baseball bat. all those bruises are from a spider bite! i know i'm a peach, but seriously?!! the doc said there are some spiders whose toxins cause the blood to break down and cause bruising, and apparently my friendly little spider bit me right on the vein, because the bruising spread all up and down my leg!
the other photo is my eldest son. he split his chin open, and after my failed (and queasy!) attempt to butterfly it closed, we took him to the doc and had it 'professionally closed' with 3 stitches. of course, it happened on his bike. but here's the funny part: he was riding his fixi, and his foot got caught as he was trying to stop. and because he didn't want to hurt his HANDS (because then he wouldn't be able to RIDE!!) he stuck out his CHIN to catch his fall!!
@indiannie_jones yep. he's a genius. and way more committed to cycling than his looks!! (: he's all better--had the stitches out monday. and my leg is all better now. both of these photos are a couple of weeks old, but i didn't want to forget about them! (:
Maybe your doctor will start giving your family a group discount...or the equivalent of frequent flier miles. : ) I'm glad to hearing you're both healing up now!
wow, i'm glad you're both better, but what a terrible turn of events! I've never seen bruises from a spider...i'm sorry you both had to go through all that pain and discomfort!
