one small step... by bcurrie

one small step...

i was inspired by the anniversary of 'one giant leap for mankind' today, so i wanted to shoot the moon!

it's a little grainy, but i don't have a 200,000mile zoom...
Amazing! Considering the distance you had to work with, it's pretty impressive you could even get that. : ) Great photo!

I'd say that's pretty good! I like the darker tone, as well as the composition.

Oh my, was that today. I was probably in 7th grade when all that happened, and I remember watching it on TV. I know, I'm old.

July 21st, 2010
it's not grainy to me. it's beautiful. what lens did you use?
July 21st, 2010
rainee--i used my 18-200vr, and zoomed in more when i edited. and thanks! (:
July 21st, 2010
wow. your shot's really awesome. i have a 70-300, which i rarely use (because it's broken and it always has to be on manual focus, which is so friggin;' hard to do especially if you're shooting children who won't sit still or bugs or flowers that's being b lown by the wind...)
maybe that would do?

I remember watching that on TV when I was 5 years old. Awesome photo!! Love the way you composed it
July 21st, 2010
That's as good as anything you'd see posted on the wall of a planetarium! Not so bad, given that, I'd say! Fantastic work, Brett!

That was my 13th birthday present! Great shot. Thanks for the comments. Which Bonhoeffer bio? Where a sigma chi? And I lived in Ardmore 8 years :). Oh, love the photo
July 22nd, 2010
Guessing I was in ardmore when you were playing tennis. Cool

Btw, metaxas book sounds interesting. Read some reviews. Bonhoeffer is complicated and rarely fits neat categories. He did not during his lifetime and he still doesn't, which is one of the reasons he still matters.

i just faved it ... because it is a wonderful photo, you mentioned the moon walk and it happened on my 3rd birthday. :-)
July 22nd, 2010
Amazing shot, Brett! I attempted a moon shot not too long ago but quickly realized the moon was NOT supposed to look like a fuzzy Q-tip. This is impressive. What is your secret?
July 22nd, 2010
