i used the cool 'posterize' effect for this shot of my youngest at the state swim meet today. teams were there from all over the state, and the meet was in a huge aquatic center with LOTS of spectators. my boy handled it all so well, and did great!
he swam in 4 individual events and ribboned in all of them (6th in 50yd fly, 6th in 50yd breast, 8th in 50yd free, and 7th in100yd free). he also posted his best times in every event! he also swam in 2 relays (his team ribboned in one and DQd in one), and in both of those he swam UP an age bracket!
he had a great day, and we all (himself included!) are so proud of him! considering that 6 months ago he knew none of the strokes and we had to practically force him to give swimming a try, the fact that he loves it so much and has become pretty darn good at it is just pretty awesome!
*LOVE* the technique you used! That made it as dramatic an image as his success was! You had to have been so happy for him, and it's great when young people can bolster their self image with such unqualified success! Again, Congratulations, to him, for swimming so well, and to you as a family for being there to cheer him on!
so proud of him!! you've inspired me to force my kids to try new things rather than wimp out and so okay i can't force you --- because I'm the mom and I CAN!
great editing, too.
