I traded ferns for these asters with my neighbor Mary Annette many years ago. She moved from our neighborhood when her husband became ill and could no longer take care of their house. I know she missed her house and gardens and would ask about them when we ran into each other. She recently passed away but I'll always think of her when I see these asters blooming.
