Ordering 250 tulip & crocus bulbs back in August seemed like a perfectly reasonable thing to do. Now that it’s cold and the ground is getting hard, I’m thinking I got alittle carried away.
I love the textures in this image as well as the square crop. I recently planted bulbs here in Pennsylvania, too. Surely in Spring, we'll be glad we did the work...happy planting!
This is a very nice view on a detail.
For many years I have bedded the flower bulbs of early flowering plants (tulips, snowdrops, crocuses, ...) in the meadow of the garden - also a week ago I did this again. Every spring, the flowers delight me with their colours and shapes - without any further effort from me.
@jerome I bet your gardens look amazing! Hopefully I will be rewarded next spring. I’m sure I will be very happy that I took the time. And thank you for the follow!
@meotzi I like the forcing idea. Unfortunately I can’t plant them in one big hole, as tempting as that sounds. I’m planting them in a very large bed that connects three large oaks, so they are pretty spread out.
@beckyk365 For sure you will be rewarded in spring for taking time for your garden. It is very special to experience how the first shoots push through the snow and the the first flowers blossoming.
I'm really looking forward to your flower pictures in spring!
