Too familiar with that view. Add in black walnuts and you have my yard. Nowadays, I pay someone with a sturdier back and commercial grade leaf vacuums to do it. :)
@seacreature we break them up and put them out in the street in front of our house. About once a week the township sends out a crew with a big leaf-sucking machine that picks everything up. Unfortunately our pick up day was today and it snowed! Not sure what’s going to happen now. I hope the snow melts quickly and they could still pick it up, otherwise it’s just going to blow back in our yard. We can put some leaves in our compost pile but we have way too many trees to do that. But the leaves that they do pick up get sent to a township compost site and in the spring you can get compost from them if you want.
