A little while ago I was lucky enough to win some money with a national television station. I bought a new Sony SLT a77 and love it so far. This was my first photo with the new camera.
@bobfoto I already had Sony and Minolta lenses so I went for a Sony SLT a77, it has a translucent mirror, seems pretty good so far. It also has an electronic viewfinder which I didn't think I would like but it's great.
@bella_ss - ok so I don't sound like a complete Camera-nubie, but what is a translucent mirror and an electronic viewfinder? Is the latter like "live viewing" through the display screen?
@bobfoto Well, I know you understand far more than me so this is just a cut and paste - "Translucent Mirror Technology features a semi-transparent mirror that stays put when the shutter release button is pressed, allowing most of the light through the mirror to the sensor but also redirects some to the AF sensor" so it can take 8 or 12 fps I think. The electronic viewfinder is just like the optical viewfinder (looking through the eyepiece) but it's an electronic picture you are seeing.
@bella_ss - well I hope all that fancy technology stuff serves you well for 2012! Hey, last time I was in the Towers, I went up on top of the hill where the cinema is. We should really have a meet and greet one day!
@bobfoto Sounds great! You probably drove past my place, call in and get that piece of torch ginger. As for the camera, it's better than my last one so it has to help.
