My Get Pushed challenge: portrait of a flower as central element in another scene (guess you could call this an environmental portrait of a flower?) Interpret as you like.
It sounded easy but to get a nice photo that made sense was a bit harder for me.
The building is our historic Stock Exchange Arcade. Our sleepy little town was once a thriving gold mining town and operated it's own stock exchange between 1872 and 1899. This is my favourite building in our town.
Yes, these challenges can sometimes prove more difficult than we anticipate. Yours has made you "think outside the box" and I think you have succeeded. Once I had a push to do a food photo, should have been so easy but it did my head in all that week. Nothing seemed like the right photo. I think in the end I just didn't do it…….naughty Terrie ;-0
@bella_ss This is fascinating because of the two separate dimensions: There's the close up of the flower (yes, love them too) plus an entire crisp building. Nice. When I read the description the idea came that this could be a sort of requiem to a by-gone age, like laying a flower at a grave. (though I can see what looks like a cafe, so though not stock exchange any more, it looks like the building is in use.)
@francoise Thank you Francoise, you're very kind with your interpretation of my image. You're right, there is a cafe in there as well as a few other businesses. It's not what I envisaged when I set out to take the shot...
Beautiful capture...I think you did well.
