Critique welcome. I'm trying to come up with a shot for abandoned. I wanted to do something different to the usual abandoned house or car. What do you think?
Thankful for - my mum. She's 87 and lives on her own. She has macular degeneration and her eyesight is going but she still makes beautiful handcrafts, gardens, cooks and so much more. I hope I'm doing all that she is when I'm 87.
Outstanding focus and capture...Fav ....My Father is 87 and still go's on 10mile walks, my Mother's 85 and walks further than my Father, I hope I can do the same at that age.

My mother is a widow and living in her own home, I'm hoping she will be doing the same at 87! So much to be thankful for!

My Dad is 94 and lives on his own and also has Macular degeneration (as do I, I was recently told at an eyesight test) and my Mum is 90 but unfortunately got taken into hospital on Boxing Day. I feel blessed that I still have both my parents even though they are on another continent. I hope I am as good at that age if I am still around.
Oh poor Teddy! He definitely looks abandoned and I think you have portrayed this well. Fav for this nice shot. My mother lived alone until 4.5 months before she died aged 91. We helped by doing her shopping, cleaning etc. but I am so thankful she managed until nearly the end when sadly she was the victim of oesophageal cancer. Bless her
This is very evocative... it really tells a story. I am reminded of "Toy Story," when I see this photo; riffing off of that movie, you could put the toy under the bed (assuming you can lay on the floor and see underneath) and try shooting the toy from that point of view... abandoned and forgotten, under the bed. Maybe some girl's shoes, etc, in the background? I really like how she is painting her nails and growing up, in the background, by the way.

I like it. I think if the girl in the shot would be turned away from the teddy it might strengthen the "abandoned" theme. Not sure how to compose it then though :)

I like this. The little girl has abandoned teddy for jewellery or make up that is up near the mirror. Very clever. I really like Rosie's idea of a toy under the bed too.

@rosiekind another wonderful story of longevity Rosie. We (my sister and sister in law) also clean and take Mum shopping.
