Two possums up a dead tree by bella_ss

Two possums up a dead tree

We put seed for the birds on a feeder on this dead tree (placed there for the birds). The possums come looking for it and Gus the blind dog chases them. The one at the top had nowhere else to go really! They are mother and baby... I think it's time for baby to leave home.

Sorry I've been MIA... again!
fabulous on black

what an excellent capture but I would have preferred that they were birds instead of possum!

ahhhh hate these creatures, in nz they are a real pest and ate alll my fruit this year

@kali66 I don't hate them but it's close to hate, lol... I do wish they would move! They eat everything here too, even my flowers are not safe.

@bella_ss I love them. Try doing what we do Sheralee. We gave up fighting with them and so we started putting out all of our fruit scraps plus bread etc for them with the idea that if they fill up on them, they will leave our stuff alone. By and large, it works pretty well

@terryliv Yeah, I do think they're cute and the babies are just adorable. We do encourage them I guess as David has made two houses for them in our tamarind tree (in an effort to keep them out of his shed). Just sometimes they are a real pain. I suppose I should try that, they do scrounge through the compost when we put the scraps in there.

Super shot. We have a pair of possums feeding on our strawberry guava plant at the moment. Hope you are safe after Cyclone Debbie. I think the winds and rain have just arrived here.
