Unicorn Rock by bella_ss

Unicorn Rock

I found this on our early morning walk just before Christmas. The other side is a pretty unicorn. Apparently it's a thing to paint rocks and leave them around for people to find. You're meant to then post it on their Facebook page, you can keep it or hide it again for someone else to find. I've since found out there are lots of these Facebook groups and probably worldwide not just Australia. Has anyone heard of this or found your own rock?

Written on the rock is Qld Rocks, Facebook logo. The 4820 is our postcode. "Find, post a pic, Keep or re-hide"
Yes I’ve found rocks and then moved them to another location nearby. I haven’t heard about the Facebook thingy. It’s a really cool thing todo I think.

@dide I agree, it was fun to find it, post on their page and the person that placed it there commented. I thought I might take it somewhere far away and hide it. One from Victoria was found here also.

I've seen postings on 365 by people who have found rocks too, but I haven't found one myself yet. It is a lovely idea.

Not yet here. Looks like it is beautifully painted. A hole at the top and a string could convert this into a pretty necklace.

A great idea, we did find one in WA and re-hid it, would have been fun to bring it back to the UK and post a picture from there of a well travelled rock!

@pcoulson Yes, you should Peter.

@judithdeacon That would have been a fun thing to do Judith :)

@helenhall Most things go worldwide don't they with the influence of social media. The world has become so much smaller.

So interesting. We have them in the states, I’ve not found one though. This one sure has a lot of information on it! Here the ones friends have found are just one picture or one phrase.

i have seen a couple in my wanderings but i didn't think much of it. plus i thought someone else might have a better use for it. i should at least take a photo, perhaps.

@summerfield For sure, always good to take a photo. Useful for 365 at least :)

@louannwarren I was so glad all the info was on the rock or I never would have known the story and the owner wouldn't have found out what happened to her rock.

Never heard of it, but I like the idea very much!
