We drove out to the bridge and had to stop about 2.5 kms away. We trekked in the rain to get some shots of the bridge. These workers were waiting for the water to fall under the bridge so they could clear the debris. It didn't happen as there was more rain upstream and the water rose again. So the wait is on once again. We could see a line of cars and trucks waiting on the other side. Apparently there were around 100 trucks waiting at a roadhouse on this side.
We are get-pushed partners this week. I challenge you to photograph motion this week.
BTW, my brother used to live in Queensland, but not that close to you. He was in Robina, near Brisbane. Now, he lives on a tiny island in the Caribbean.
@terryliv Yes thanks Terry! Not too sure about our property in Townsville but no news is good news there I guess. The water is going up and down and is about 2 and a half metres higher than this photo shows. We can still go south but there are hundreds of people stranded here wanted to go in other directions. And still the rain is falling...
This is such a great black and white shot in so many ways- so journalistic is the simple way to say it. Great perspective. We have just come through a particularly wet period and then had a huge snowstorm on top of it. So far no flooding around here but it could happen. I hope the water subsides sooner rather than later for you, but you never know how long these things will take.

Hoping for a quick end and a minimum amount of damage, but it certainly sounds distressing.
