See you next year! by berelaxed

See you next year!

Each year for Hanover Day, our community day of celebration, I organize a Fairy House building activity. It's one of our Hanover Garden Club yearly projects. Participating children select a little paper fairy, and then pick assorted sticks, bark, feathers and other offered natural materials to construct tiny houses on the lawn between our town library and the Stetson House Historical Museum. Unfortunately, it's pouring this morning and we were forced to cancel our annual activity. Hopefully, the weather will clear for some of the other afternoon activities and the big fireworks display tonight.

I don';t know if they still do it but there were always fairy houses in a certain area in the woods on Monhegan Island. Built just like you described.

@joansmor I think they still do, they are famous for them and probably where the idea started.
