We took her to the vet clinic tonight, she had lost her appetite, something impossible to be happening to Raspberry. It was not to be a bad tooth or something that fixable. Her x-rays showed a mass, obviously cancerous and her little abdomen filled with fluid. She had been sedated for the exam, after putting on quite a violent show when the vet began examining her. We made the hardest decision of our lives tonight and let her go, in her sedated state over the Rainbow Bridge with some more help from the doctor.
We have lost a brilliant and loving member of this family, this house will never be the same.
I retired from public school teaching after happily spending twenty eight years playing in Kindergarten. Now I fill my days watching cat antics, taking endless...

Diverted here by @joansmor So sorry for you, to lose a beloved cat of many years is a complete earth shattering time....we lost ours a couple of years ago now, Lily was 19 yers old & very much missed still. Think of the good life you gave her & remember her forever in your hearts!
I am so very sorry to see this news...the love you shared was special and will live on. What joy she brought to those of us blessed to get to know her through your wonderful photos...my prayers are with you.
I am so sorry. I don't know if this proper to share but I must say, I'm sitting here crying for the loss of such a joy. I'm sorry and please know I'm sending lots of love to you and yours. Sending comfort and strength but mostly love. I started following you because of her - I miss my cats terribly and she and you too, brought such joy and light. I'm sorry. I hope she meets my Dr.Lao and Cody over there ~ till we all meet again. Much love to you and to sweet Raspberry
@elatedpixie Thank you so much for your caring thoughts and kind words. I have realized that her photographs brought joy to so many people all over the world. We had the most fun doing them together, she posed willingly and we loved adored her. We are distraught and sobbing over the loss of such joy as you so aptly put it. I treasure this comment and you reaching out to share. xx Betsey
Perhaps there will be another little poser in my/our future, we shall see.
Oh, no. I’ve been so preoccupied with my own stuff I had not seen this post. Raspberry has, indeed brought so much joy to 365. I will miss seeing her little face here. My sincerest sympathy. What a hard decision you had to make.
I have been so busy that I completely missed this terribly sad news!!! I am so sorry for the loss of your beautiful Raspberry. She brought everyone on 365 so much joy and smiles with her gorgeous eyes and sweet personality. It is impossible to forget a cat that gave you so much to remember. Take good care...
