Pumpkin seeds for lunch by berelaxed

Pumpkin seeds for lunch

There's quite a feast going on daily for our squirrel population. If it ever stops raining, I need to move all of our decorative pumpkins from the patio, tables and wall. Every year I place them under the bird feeders for the squirrels and other creatures interested in pumpkin delights. They devour them. I must say that the squirrels have terribly messy table manners, but seem to enjoy every bite.

I have a pumpkin on the deck and it hasn't been touched. Should I cut it open to tempt them? I would love the squirrels to enjoy it now.

I have two pumpkins being eaten but I never catch the critters doing it.

@joansmor You could, ours just bite them until the hole is big enough to dig into or crawl into!

@berelaxed I have had them bite in before but they seem to be ignoring this year. I will cut a hole this weekend and see what happens. The leaves are thick in my yard - they may be hanging out somewhere else.
