I have a nearly lifelong friend( since we were 6) who called me last night. She said that she had just come back from a pharmacy in Plymouth where her niece works. This pharmacy doesn't do vaccines at the store, but they supply a mobile van that dispenses them. Occasionally they have leftover doses. My friend asked me if I wanted her niece to text me if it happened again. I said, "please", and she did today just after noon. I would have to come before 3 o'clock when the vaccine would expire. T drove me immediately. Luckily she had just finished a work presentation and was free for lunch. I will have to schedule my own second dose in three weeks, but things should be better by then, or they say they will. One shot does provide some good protection. I don't plan to change much of how i have been living even after the second shot, but I want to stay out of the ICU. I have cried thankful tears today.

I retired from public school teaching after happily spending twenty eight years playing in Kindergarten. Now I fill my days watching cat antics, taking endless...
Wahey! Great news - and yes there is fairly good evidence that 1 dose provides good protection against the serious effects of the disease - and if you're getting your second in 3 weeks - all the better. We're having to wait 12 weeks here for our second dose.
