We miss Machiasport, homestead and environs

It will be months before we wake in this cosy room with a view. I can hardly wait, it's one of my favorite places on the planet.

It was a safe and easy 5 hour and 45 minute trip home from Maine today. We arrived home before dark and are unpacked and settling back into our regular Sunday night routines. It really helps that T is working from home, the adjustment is not quite so jarring. She worked in Maine, along with some time off over the long Indigenous Peoples Day weekend, but it's back to the grind tomorrow. A loft view instead of watching the tides rise and fall and the leaves changing color across the river in Machiasport.

We passed my brother and sister-in-law on the road today near Ellsworth on their way to Machiasport. My brother will button up the house for winter before they leave. He sometimes goes up in the winter, but the weather is tough and unpredictable.

We had a wonderful time and fabulous weather. Merrry loved every minute of the stay. She had a sedative for the ride home and did veryy well, no singing or fussing. She ate well when we arrived home and she's asleep now after stretching and checking and rechecking the house.

For the Record,
This day came in stormy after a night of heavy rain and wild winds in Maine. We drove through showers and sun on our way home. It's was cool and sunny when we arrived home.

All hands missing Maine.
Lovely old-fashioned room with lots of character. You had great travel weather. Nice to be retired and be able to spend so much time there.
