He's not really ready for his close up, a highly cropped one too. I couldn't resist enlarging him with his prize, a big chunk of dried fruit from the feeder. When his feathers are new and pristine, he's quite a looker. His mate has just a small red head and the fledglings have chalky white heads at first. They announce themselves as the approach the feeders and are quite large garden birds.

This day came in hot and humid. Every living thing looks wilted today, at noon it supposedly felt like 108f with the outside temp and the high humidity. It was supposed to ease tonight, but now I hear this will drag on until Wednesday. .
