We went to one of our favorite spots to find peace this afternoon, The labyrinth at Glastonbury Abbey in Hingham, Massachusetts. We had done some shopping in a delightful bookshop in a nearby town and suddenly felt overwhelmed by too many shoppers. Walking a labyrinth is peaceful and a powerful symbol for us. Almost nine years ago(after a 21 year courtship) we were married on a large portable canvas labyrinth that we helped paint. We didn't have the best shoes on for walking this particular lovely monk made labyrinth. It's very narrow and twisty and we both had on Doc Marten boots. As always, it did the trick, the walking and meditative moments brought us peace in a very hectic season.
For the Record,
This day came in cloudy, damp and raw. We are expecting wild wind swept rain tomorrow and a drastic temperature drop after. Our other New England neighbors away from the coast are expecting snow from this Bomb Cyclone. Holiday air travel will be a nightmare!
