Our friend BB, now living in Southern California, arrived safely this afternoon in Boston. Luckily she was not flying SouthWest Airlines or we would not have had that airport hug. For many years she has spent Christmas or just after Christmas with us. She and I met 52 years ago this June, working as summer camp counselors at Camp Kiwanee in Hanson Massachusetts. A group of us have stuck together from our 20s to our 70s. Two have died, but we keep them alive in our memories and stories of our adventures. The camp is only a few miles from here, no longer a camp, but preserved as a town recreation facility. We'll visit and have hopefully several get togethers while BB is here. Friends new and old are the name of the game in times like these.
