Collared Dove

I had a new visitor in the garden yesterday - this lovely little dove -- I haven't seen one for years in my garden --not since a sparrow-hawk zoomed down and killed the then one of the pair of doves that were regular visitors . So I hope this little dove will bring her partner to see me again soon and perhaps regularly !!

I have a lone collared dove in my garden - chases off the magpies when there is food at stake

How lovely to have this beautiful lady in your garden. We used to have three that were here all the time but we have peregrines in the valley and sadly I think they may have taken the collared doves.
