The Old Station , Welshpool . by beryl

The Old Station , Welshpool .

The Old Station at Welshpool , no longer functions as a train station but is cleverly transformed into a clothing retail shop with its own café . Recorded steam train sounds can be heard from time to time -- very nostalgic !
Beautiful old building :)

What a great idea, much better than knocking it down, especially what it's such an attractive building.

Boo
We are off to Wales this summer to visit family. They live just outside New Quay. I have changed from a train to a bus many a time when the water level has covered the tracks in Welshpool!

I know I tend to see things that passes many others attention. But what is that black pipe that runs up the face of the building? My first thought was that it is a downspout for rainwater. But then I don't see and gutter to catch rainwater.
But I do very much like how you composed and processed this! FAV!

@skipt07 Well spotted Skip --I took it for granted that it was a downpipe but on closer inspection and looking at the photo of this gable in my other photo album bits and bobs entitled "Patterns "on the 7th April you will find the pipe is what we term as the stench pipe /soil pipe or drain-waste-vent !! Well done Skip -- you made me look closer at my own photo!
