This is the dam wall and carries the road across from side to side of the lake .
Lake Vyrnwy is a reservoir in Powys , Wales . Its stone built dam built in 1880's was the first of its kind in the world .It was built to supply Liverpool and the districts .later designated as Merseyside with fresh water ! In doing this the old village and farms of the old Llanwddyn were drowned and a new village was built lower down the valley by the Liverpool Corporation to accommodate the people who lost their homes . Had a day out here today -- a lovely day ,but now I am absolutely shattered -- so my apologies if I do not manage to comment on your beautiful shots tonight !
It's s wonderful place, Beryl, been there many times. Once I rented a tandem from the shop and cycled all the way round the lake. It's a great lazy ride, the road is almost flat all the way round. Great shot.
