" Nellie " has come into flower -- the flowers are high up reaching for the sun , but unfortunately the sun soon bleaches its colour .( and I had to stand on tip-toe for this shot !) Clematis love to face the sun but have their roots in a cool place - so I have a flowering ground covering plant to shade the roots and soil ( see in my today's other post )
One of my favorites, lovely colour and focus, I lost count of how many of this variety I sold when I was working in our garden centre, it went into hundreds over the years. So nice to see it again, fav.
@gamelee Grrrrh !! my lawn is still suffering -- I have cancelled Green thumb for the moment as not only my lawn is still recovering but also they put up the price !!! I spoke to them and they did suggest they could reduce the price a little for me but I said they could contact me at the end of the summer !! I shall keep them dangling for a while !! ( or forever !!)
