The garden is buzzing with sparrows - there seems to be so many fledging feeding off the feeders and demanding to be fed by the parents -- lovely to see and to watch !
We don't see sparrows here where I live by the coast, the tend to be inland birds here in Australia.
They have got lots of food here to keep them well fed.
@dannydavies Yes we provide them with lots of water - a birdbath ( a bit of a nuisance and needs constant refilling - nice to look at but too shallow to hold much water , a stainless bowl on the feeder and Alfies extra water bowl is on the patio step ! -- they frequently come and drink out of that , Alfie doesn't seem to mind !!
It's fascinating to see the babies being fed, sometimes babies are as big as the adults, I have to stand at my kitchen window to watch them. Next time will put bird table by a window with a seat?
Lovely processing! I love to watch the birds feed too...so fun to see the activity. I have finches, mourning doves, blue jays and a bird I call "a one hit wonder" in my yard, but I don't know the kind of bird...just sings one note.
@gardenfolk Ooh ! I wold love to see your "one hit wonder " !! My usual birds are - sparrows , European robins , tits , blackbirds , jackdaws , wood pigeons ,, occasionally collared doves , goldfinch ( so pretty )
@beryl I will have to see if I can record or photograph the bird and find out what kind it is. I don't know that much about birds. This bird chirps once...then again...then again...but always the exact same note. :)
