Daddy long legs (Crane fly ) by beryl

Daddy long legs (Crane fly )

I just do not like these long legged flies just as well he was the other side of the pane of glass otherwise he would have been squashed !!
The crane fly is quite harmless but their larvae commonly known as leatherjacks When the eggs are laid in a lawn the larvae feed on the roots and stem bases of lawn grass causing dead patches in the grass -- I do look out for this as we had an invasion some years ago and had to thoroughly rake and treat the lawn to destroy them before they destroyed the lawn .

Looks a nice sunny morning today - hope it continues !
Quite a few jobs on the list - maybe I shall do one or two of them today prioritizing on the garden as it sunny !

Enjoy your weekend one and all !
love it ...

When I left home my grass was still like straw, so do not think the leather jacks would survive.
