One more from our trip to mid Wales on a hazy day last Sunday . Such a peaceful scene with the cattle quietly grazing .
My little man never came back to do the painting jobs outside and as I was not over-keen on having him back - I went elsewhere and had a quote from a painter / decorator . On receiving the quote I had to lift myself off the floor , but haggled and he lowered the price to what was acceptable by me . A husband and wife team , who seemed to know what they were about , and recently moved into the area and are trying to build up their business .I asked for their business card , but they have not had their cards printed yet ,but gave me their business card from their previous address down Sussex ( one has to be careful these days ! ) So I am waiting with abated breath from a phone call to say when they can start !
Beautiful scene Beryl with the rolling hills. My area is so flat we don't know what a hill is. Hope you get your painting sorted I always use" Safe local trades "approved by the council .Fav
@fbailey Ooh thank you ! I hate employing tradesmen and to find a good one and even hate having them on my property !! ! - like you have had one or two bad experiences of shoddy workmanship ! perhaps I am too much of a perfectionist as my late husband and I did most diy and maintenance work ourselves . Thanks for your good wishes !
Our neighbours have asked us to recommend a builder for an extension they want done. But that's very risky, because one never knows how things will turn out.
Love your quiet county scene Beryl.
Lovely Welsh scene Beryl, how you must love going home! Quite a decision choosing tradesmen...it’s such a dodgy job these days. My DIL parents got locked in their house last Friday & the chap they called out charged them £381.40 to repair it. Cash too! You always worry that elderly people get done over! He wanted to come back to finish next day but when they said that wouldn’t be convenient he suddenly found the bit in his van...all good but then he spoilt it by saying. ‘Well that saved you a £100! ‘. Makes you wonder!
