My neighbour gave me a bag-full of wind-fall apples - eaters , but can cook , but do not keep very well !So last night I sat by my little table in front of the telly peeling and preparing the apples and onions ! This morning proceeded to make the Apple Chutney .
This afternoon in the lovely Autumn sunshine Gary was tidying and moving a bush for me in the garden -- I had to interfere , picked up the spade and hey presto my already bad back gave a snap noise and stabbing pain . Taken painkillers and am off to bed with a hot pad o my lower back ! Sorry no commenting tonight !
Oh dear Beryl, so sorry about your bad back. Do hope it improves with rest.Your lovely picture brought back memories.
Over the years I have made lots of chutney, jams and bottled fruit. Sadly, can no longer stand long enough to do much cooking at all these days.
Oh Beryl....how maddening...so easy it happens too. Do hope a nights rest on your back fixes it but sounds a bit longer job to me! I feel bad as we have so many Bramley apples on the tree & I have done nothing with them!
beautiful housewife image, never ate apple chutney, sorry about the bad conglusion of the day, keep company with my husband with back pain, hope you get back in shape soon
Oh Ann! Take care and I hope you will soon feel better. Your apple chutney looks great. I've just done a batch of carrot jam. We'll see how it turns out!!

Sorry to hear about your back. Hope the hot pad will help.
