I believe it is a rook by the shape and size of its bill . However a member of the intelligent crow family . He decided to come down from the chimney pots for his share of food put out for the "big birds "I loved watching him !
It brings back memories from childhood when my dad came home laughing with the story of an old farmer confused with the English name and wanting someone to shoot the "crooks " on his farm ! We often laughed at the story when we saw a rook !
