Jack-daw. by beryl

Jack-daw.

For @sianharrison .
Mi welais Jack-y-do ,
Yn eistedd ar ben to ,
Het wen ar ei ben
,A dwy goes bren ,
Ho,ho ho ho !!
One of the heavy mobs that visit the garden when I feed the smaller garden bird Intelligent bird - I love to watch him but unfortunately the whole gang descends when food is in the offing and they greedily devour the lot at a speed !
Another damp morning !
Lovely capture

Beautiful capture. Fav. They seem to love your food. I wouldn't mind them visiting me. At the moment no bird visits me here; probably the weather is too hot already.

Great catch Beryl. That's quite an impressive looking eye. I would think he scares off the little birds for sure.

A super capture, love the colours, we don’t see them very often in our garden, it’s more magpies we see.

A lovely capture and bird. I don't get them in my garden or very rarely see one in this area. We are having welcome showers with sunny intervals between and great for my very dry garden.

He has a very fierce angry look, but probably just the way he’s colored. I had fun the other day when I first looked at this. Much of the Welsh corresponded to what I’ve been learning. “Het wen ar ei ben” was a fine illustration of our latest lesson — the mutation caused by “ei” meaning “his” as opposed to when it means “hers.” I had to look up some of the words. I didn’t know the term for roof top. Thanks for exercising my brain in addition to delighting my eye.

@mcsiegle - Glad to oblige Mary - Welsh is such a complex language , but for a welsh born and bred - these things come naturally !

Yes, I’m very envious of you learning it naturally as a child... Sigh...back to learning mutations with an adult brain.
